My ideal job

Hello, this time i need to write about my ideal job... well, always that i think about my laboral future i imagined myself working with wild life (working in conservation) i know that here, in Chile, there are to few veterinarias that dedicated to this area, but always i like this kind of work, more excinting and,  yes, dangerous..

the place?? maybe a zoo or a kind of nature reserve, and if it`s possible out of Chile (perhaps just for some time), places like dog town (in the documentary that we saw), and if is in Chile, well, i like very much Buin zoo, and i think that should be great work there. I belived that all these places has one common thing, in all i can see the real vocation and love for the animals, they really try to help them and it`s that what i want to do in my life, work in something that i feel to be worth.
I`m not sure with who, but i like working in team,with people to think similar than me of course. About the boss?? well if i work in Buin zoo i will have a boss, or in other place i will have a boss, it`s difficult star something new and be your own boss, of course that if i heve the chance i take it, but who know??... well that isn`t something that i doesn`t matter yet, and about the time, well i don`t want to work so much, always it`s good a rest.

well, i don`t know what else, i do my best...

My favourite subject

Hello!!! this time i have to write about my favourite subject...
well if i have to choose, i can tell you that my favourite subject it´s anatomy and histology, yes, i know that i have to write just one, but i can decided of what of these i like more, why?? well, i know that it is very difficult (specially  anatomy) but it´s one of the subjects more related  to the career, in fact when i decided study veterinary medicine i imagine this kind of subjects, of course that the others are important and  necessary too, but these subjects steel me to my future profession and show me if i really like this (of course yes), for example we can see some important aspects of animals: know the parts of them and how work it , some diseases, etc, and to me it´s very, very interesting.
Another thing that i like of these subjects, it´s that both, after a class, we have a laboratory that show us how really it is what the teacher talked us in class, it´s very interactive, let me to practice what i learn  and expand my  knowledge...

who i admire???

Well, this time  i have to write about someone i admire, to be honest i don`t know who, right now any name come to my mind...

But i remember a documental that i saw once about how a group of people dedicate his work and time to help littles animals (specially elephants and rhinos orphans) who lost their mothers, who are killed or dies from injury leaving a dependent calf. This documental call "elephants`diary", the place where they work is in a park call The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi (in honour to a famous naturalist with the same name).

One of the doctors who work there it`s Dr. Jeremiah Pogho, he was born in 1977 in West Pokot district of Rift Valley Province near the border with Uganda. He began working as an intern veterinarian, but in 2008 he enter into Kenya wildlife service, veterinary department;  then he was moved to the Tsavo mobile, veterinary unit in this park... he love what he do, like we can see with his own words: "Wildlife work has many challenges but the feeling of saving this precious and dwindling heritage gives me a lot of satisfaction".

I choose this veterinarian because i like too much what they do in this park, protect the wildlife is maybe a work that i like do in a future as vet, they everyday save lifes of animals and try to reinstate them to their enviroment. I think that you must have a real vocation to do this kind of work and i admire them for that reason...

My carreer

Why i decided study veterinary medice????

Well, I always want to become a vet, when i was a child i love animals and i want to study some carrer related to them, of course the first work i think was in vets, and this idea i liked to much. One of the things that make me wich become a vet was my pets, when i lost one of them, but not for natural reason i would like help them more... and besides to love animals, i like science and all related to medice, and i really want to make the difference to help in some way to the animals, people and the nature, for that reason i decided study veterinary medice, i really hope that in some years more i could complete this and become in a good vet.

About the univerity, all people know that the university of Chile and UC, are the best, and i want to study in the best place... I like this university, of course isn`t perfect, but i think is good, i love study in a place with so much trees and green around us, and of course with so many animals (dogs, even when i know that means some problems to the university and "mundo granja", i love horses!!), that is something that has not all universities.

I strongly believe that veterinary medice is a great carreer!!!

My name is Lisette Monardes, I´m 18 years of old, and I´m study veterinary medicine.
I create this blogs for my english class, and i think that is a great idea for learn and practice a little more about this language...
well, what can i say about me??? i love animals and all the natural things, i like listen music, read and  films (speceally movies of adventure), one of my hobbies is paint and draw.
